Woodlawn Park, Kentucky is at the former site of the world famous Woodlawn Race Course. It was considered to be one of the best race courses in the world at the time, but closed due to financial difficulties in 1870. Over the years, it has slowly become a suburban community. It was incorporated in 1954 and most current houses were built in the 1960’s. It is now a 5th class city with a mayor and city council and there are about 440 homes within the city of Woodlawn Park. Woodlawn Park boasts a quiet tree-lined city with beautiful brick homes. It can be easily reached off of State Hwy 1447/Westport Road and US I-264 Henry Watterson Expressway.
