Established in 1797 on 500 acres of rolling hills along the Sinking Fork of Beargrass Creek, Middletown was so named because the community is halfway between Louisville and Shelbyville. Once a farming community, Middletown has more recently attracted business, commercial, and residential growth. With a diverse mix of apartments, contemporary homes, and historic buildings near 1-265, residents can have both country serenity and city convenience.
